EYFS have been enjoying PE in the sunshine ☀ This term, the focus of lessons is agility and speed. The children have been playing lots of games to help them develop their speed. Catch us if you can 🏃
This week in Year 1, the children have been enjoying the sun in the outdoor area. There are lots of fun activities for them to choose from, including making bubble wands, exploring volume and capacity, and creating a large snake skin pattern.
Year 2 have been continuing to learn about measurement in maths. Last term, they learnt about how to measure using standard units for length and mass. This week, they have learnt all about volume and capacity using litres and millilitres, and how to measure temperature using degrees Celsius. They really enjoyed watching how the temperature rose in hot water and fell for ice water too. Why not try this at home? 😀
This week, Year 3 have learnt the rules of rounders. They showed off their throwing and catching skills!
Year 4 have started their new art unit by sketching birds nests. They used various different techniques with pencil to create so many unique drawings.
Year 5 have been measuring and drawing angles in maths this week. They are enjoying using a protractor for the first time.
Year 6 have enjoyed taking part in circuit training during their Active 20 this week.
A BIG SHOUT OUT: A big thank you to Mr West who is spending a long time everyday watering the new turf around the sandpit. It is the best maintained patch of lawn in the South West!
PUPDATES: we are very much enjoying Facebooks AI responses to our Dot and Mouse posts. It is quality entertainment! Dot has been snuggled up in a mountain of toys this week. We thought we had lost her at one point!

Holly has trained SO hard for this event - putting in huge miles alongside the busy life of a primary school teacher.
She’s raising money for Weston Hospicecare - a charity very close to her heart and one that has supported countless families across Weston.

We had such a lovely lunchtime. The children had a blast in the sand pit. They are making good use of all the sand toys you have donated.
Our new water table from Mendip Green PTA is well loved and we are looking forward to the delivery of a second one.
We are loving the drier weather and will be sharing heaps more updates over the next few weeks.

Today has been a day of many achievements.
- She had a loooooong cuddle with Mrs Hodgson
- She only did one bark at Mr Carroll when he came in the office (Mr Carroll is her nemesis… nobody is sure why, including Mouse and Mr Carroll).
- She sat with her buddy O whilst he ate his cheese sandwich AND let O give her chin tickles.
- She went for walkies with her buddy O and a grown up. This was her first walkies without Miss Walton and she loved it! She did lots of running about and sniffing in the bushes.

It turns out building a GIANT paper aeroplane makes everything better. Some serious thinking went into this engineering masterpiece. There were test flights, strengthening of the wings and fuselage and even, after conferring with Mr B, our resident expert in all things to do with planes, the addition of flaps.
Can you make a bigger paper aeroplane? We don’t think so.
We will probably be venturing into the world of rocket science next. 🚀

This amazing chap recently had the opportunity to introduce the Bristol Rovers team at the ‘Mem’ (Memorial Stadium). We think you’ll agree, he smashed it 🎤 💪
Available for a range of music and sporting events, including football, boxing and royal rumbles, we understand that his rates are very reasonable 👌
Mr O is already trying to tap him up for future raffles and other such announcements. Finally, we might have somebody who knows what they are doing.

Well - it was simple. All we needed was 30 children who were very willing (nothing at all to do with missing RE), some plastic trays and half an hour of frantic scooping.
They were more effective than a pack of over excited labradors at the beach!
That sand was moved and smoothed. We did get to a point where confusion set in and half of the children had forgotten the task and were just lying face down in the sand, moving it back the other way or having a zen moment to re- evaluate the events of the afternoon 😂 But, they rallied and completed the job.
We will be in the sandpit from tomorrow and we are EXCITED!
